Fresno<->Bakersfield Local Advocacy Team Page

The Fresno<->Bakersfield section will be approximately 113 miles long and will serve as possible future test track for the high-speed rail system.  Trains will be capable of reaching their maximum cruising speed of about 220 mph and will complete the journey from Bakersfield to Fresno in just 37 minutes.  Due to the high unemployment rate of the Central Valley, the high-speed rail project will be a boon to the local economy be providing tens of thousands of construction jobs.
