Welcome to the Local Advocacy Team page of the Palmdale-Los Angeles section of the proposed high speed rail route.
About Palmdale-Los Angeles Section
The Palmdale-Los Angeles section of the California High-Speed Rail system includes four stations: Palmdale, Sylmar, Burbank, and Los Angeles Union Station. Each station will have a connection to the Metrolink commuter rail system and also offer connections to Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner in Los Angeles and Burbank. This section encompasses approximately 58 miles; though it depends on final route layout. Given the Palmdale to Los Angeles section passes through the middle of the San Fernando Valley and surrounding area, it’s likely to serve as the main starting point for travelers headed to the Bay Area and/or Central Valley. This section will also serve as an important commuter route as it parallels the overly-congested I-5 and SR-14 freeways. Upon completion, it’s likely to serve a large portion of the Palmdale/San Fernando Valley to Downtown Los Angeles commute demand given its advantages over driving.
